Programs & Subsidies
Navigating the landscape of hearing aid funding can be complex. That’s why we’re here to answer your questions and provide guidance on the various programs available to support you. If we think you would be eligible for one of the available public funding programs, we will inform you of this at your appointment. Explore the comprehensive resources below and take the first step towards a world of clearer sound with All Ears.
Assistive Devices Program (ADP)
The Assistive Devices Program, provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health, offers a grant to help cover a portion of the costs associated with hearing aids for eligible residents of Ontario. As Audiologists, we have the capability to prescribe hearing aids within the program.
We simplify the process by providing the necessary paperwork and managing the submission process on your behalf. During your fitting, we deduct the expected ADP contribution from the total cost of each hearing aid. We look after the paperwork for this to make the experience more convenient for you.
Ceridian Cares
Ceridian Cares provides financial aid to individuals and families with limited income, offering grants for various needs, including medical devices like hearing aids. Eligible applicants may receive funding of up to $5000. Additional details can be accessed on their website here. https://www.ceridiancares.ca/evaluation
Non-insured Health Benefits (NIHB)
As a First Nations or Inuit individual registered with the Canadian government, you have access to the Non-Insured Health Benefits program, covering essential healthcare services, including hearing aids. At All Ears, we provide assistance in navigating the paperwork, handling submissions on your behalf, and ensuring you receive fully covered hearing aids every five years under the NIHB program.
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
Veterans Affairs Canada, formerly known as the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), provides healthcare benefits to veterans. Veterans, including those in the RCMP, suffering from noise-induced hearing loss during service may qualify for VAC-covered hearing aids. At All Ears, we are dedicated to supporting veterans, guiding them through the process, determining eligibility, and recommending suitable hearing aids.
If you are a veteran receiving benefits from Veterans Affairs Canada, suffering from hearing loss, we encourage you to reach out to us. VAC benefits include annual hearing tests and examinations, hearing aid adjustments, and the replacement of hearing aids every five years.
Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
Whether you are currently employed or have past experience in a noisy work setting, you may qualify for benefits from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, commonly known as Workers Comp. WSIB covers hearing aid expenses for noise-induced hearing loss prevalent in industries such as factories, construction, and areas with heavy machinery.
We streamline the process of getting hearing aids for you and we directly invoice WSIB for the services provided. If you have been exposed to high noise levels at work, a thorough hearing test can allow us to assess your eligibility for WSIB coverage, and we’ll guide you through the application process if you appear to be a candidate.
Social Assistance
Those receiving financial assistance from the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and Ontario Works (OW) may be eligible for financial assistance to cover hearing aid expenses. Approval from your local office is crucial before proceeding with the purchase. Please contact your caseworker to provide you with the necessary paperwork for your hearing assessment.
